Mycolance is the brainchild of Tyler Brunner, a mushroom forager and citizen scientist living in West Virginia. Brunner joined forces with seasoned foragers and life-long friends Rana Yalcin and Jess Booth to bring Mycolance as a brand to life.
Mycolance is powered by a 96’ Toyota Hi-Medic, a decomissioned ambulance imported from Japan! The van is one of fifty 1UZ-FE V8 all-wheel-drive Hi-Medic’s ever manufactured by Toyota. We have been everywhere with Mycolance, following the rains and collecting mushrooms from over 15 states.
We specialize in hyper-local and native species of edible mushrooms (some you cant get anywhere else), providing choice specimen to restaurants, farmers markets, and home-cooks. Mycolance is outfitted with a folding bunkbed for weeks-long hunting trips; we live, breathe, and dream mushrooms all to give you THE BEST.
